Delaware Auto Tint Laws:

Every state has it's own laws on restricting auto window tinting the front windshield. They also have restrictions on tinting the front side windows.

  • No reflective or metallic tint on ANY windows
  • Non-reflective tint below the AS-1 line or 6" on the top of the windshield
  • Windows must show "after manufacture" sticker under DE approved tint
  • Back side windows and rear windows can be any darkness
  • Violating the tint laws is a civil traffic violation and can be fines depending on the first offense or repeat offenders

Some exemptions are for auto front side windows only:

  • Medical exemption, such as lupus or other medical conditions
  • Vision related issues with the need to limit sunlight
  • May apply for a permit, waiver, or exemption
